LA Colors Jumbo Eye Pencil Review and Swatches

11:10:00 AM

I finally got to try these LA Colors Jumbo Eye Pencils. Ever since I tried using the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk, I was hooked. It instantly became a favorite and a staple in my makeup kit.  I recently noticed the LA Colors Jumbo Eye Pencils online and I just had to try them out so that I can see how they compare with the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil.

Skip the traditional powder eyeshadow and try a jumbo eyeshadow pencil. It allows you to use as an eyeliner for bold lines or blend out for a subtle effect.

LA Colors Jumbo Eye Pencil in Limeade and Popsicle

left is Limeade, right is Posicle

What I like about it...
* inexpensive
* very opaque and pigmented
* decent size, it is slightly shorter compared to the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil
* no funky smell
* glides easily
* the pencil has a stopper, so the cap won't squish the product
* available locally at LA Colors counter for only Php119.00

What I don't like...
* it is very creamy, I had to be light handed when applying this since a slight touch will transfer the product immediately
* can't be worn alone because it will crease, but it makes a great eyeshadow base

My rating: 3/5

 the cap won't slide down because of the stopper

 I rubbed this very lightly, it smudges easily
Overall, I do like these Jumbo eye pencils as an eyeshadow base. But other than that, I can't think of any other use for them. I still prefer the formulation of the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils because they can be used as an eyeliner and eyeshadow base at the same time. The LA Colors Jumbo Eye Pencils are just too creamy to be used as an eyeliner.

Let me know what you ladies think about this, especially if you have tried using it.

Until next time.

  3. Love the colors! But sadly, I don't think I can use this. I have oily lids and this will just smudge on me badly if I'll base it on your swatch. Great review! :)

  4. My goodness, these colors are so bright and fun but I am not sure if I could rock them. Looks like I'll have to go with neutral colors instead.

  7. Hi! I have a couple of these pencils and i love them :) I don't have the sharpener that is supposed to come with it. Can i use a regular sharpener? will it ruin the pencils? just wondering...

    1. @MsNaziam, I don't think these come with a free sharperner. a regular jumbo cosmetic sharpener will work fine. ^_^
